Detective Kevin Coffey is the founder of Corporate Travel Safety, which specializes in crime prevention as well as risk reduction programs for organizations and associations worldwide. His background is unique, in that his expertise came from a 35-year career with the Los Angeles Police Department, where he recently retired as a Detective / Sergeant.

During his long career he worked a variety of assignments which gave in a active, inside, first hand look at crime, how it occurs, as well as how it avoid it. His background in crimes committed against travelers came from his assignment at the LAPD's Airport Crimes Investigations Detail and was personally responsible for investigating thousands of crimes committed against travelers at LAX, as well as area hotels, and meeting/event locations.

His expertise has allowed him to identify the most common methods and locations used by professional criminals who target travelers, and to develop strategies to reduce traveler's victim potential.

As a pioneer in the area of travel safety, he is passionate about reducing the victimization of travelers in airports, hotels, and while on the road. He is an author, with his latest book being "Traveler Beware! An Undercover Cop's Guide to Avoiding Pickpockets, Luggage Theft and Travel Scams."
